Homo-Imitans | Editorial
This project draws from the myth of Arachne to explore the idea of imitation as a fundamental human instinct, reframing humans as Homo imitans rather than Homo sapiens. It examines how survival has always depended on mimicking nature, and how this behavior continues today through technology and artificial intelligence. Using the octopus as a central reference, the work investigates its unique abilities such as camouflage, soft sensing, and adaptive movement, positioning it as a model for innovation. By connecting biological intelligence to technological advancement, the project reflects on how humans replicate and extend natural systems, raising questions about evolution, control, and the blurred boundary between human and machine
